Teen Brain Xplained
Teen Brain Xplained is a five-class workshop designed for parents and teens (ages 12-16 years old) to explore the fascinating changes in the adolescent brain and strengthen family communication.
Our next offering of Teen Brain Xplained will be held from 4pm – 5:30pm on
Fridays, April 24, May 1, 8, 15 & 22.
NOTE: This course requires at least one parent and one teen (ages 12-16) to register. Please contact Laura Baker at bakerl@cfhcare.org if an additional parent or additional teens from the same household would like to attend.
Course Description:
In this course, parent/child dyads will: understand normal changes in the teen brain; practice activities that build positive communication; and acquire tools to boost resiliency and shift perspectives. Goals of the class are to: gain usable strategies for everyday life; foster stronger parent-teen relationships; and create a supportive environment for growth. This course is based on the work of Dr. Daniel Siegel, Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.
