Mindfulness-Based Resiliency
The learning that we do in Power of Presence – the noticing, the tools, the experience of safety around difficult emotions all prepare us to – CHOOSE. As human beings, we are programmed to react. These reactions, while keeping us physically safe, exact a toll on our nervous systems. In MBR, we practice NOTICING and CHOOSING a RESPONSE rather than being directed by our reactions.
MINDFULLNESS-BASED RESILIENCY
Mindfulness-Based Resiliency (class two) uses proven mindfulness-based stress reduction skills to calm feelings of fear, uncertainty and lack of control. This course builds on the principles introduced in the Power of Presence course, delving deeper into the practices of meditation & movement while continuing to introduce skills that manage emotions. Mindfulness-Based Resiliency (MBR) is a 2-hour class lasting 8-weeks and developed at the University of Massachusetts. All MBR participants MUST have completed Power of Presence.
